Terry Venables met with the heads of Newcastle United yesterday to talk about potentially coming in as a part-time manager.
The former England boss broke the news himself in The Sun newspaper.
And why would he need to do that?
I suppose he likes his own press clippings or something because there is no way a proper professional seeking employment would do such a thing. I was thinking this when the news broke that he had turned down the opportunity to take over the club.
Venables didn't end his own hype machine there, either. He vowed to tell the readers why he declined the offer in the next day's paper.
That was two days of coverage of a non-story that only Venables profited from.
I had a look at the website today in order to read his reasoning for refusing the post and he claimed it was due to the job not being guaranteed once the club was sold to another buyer.
He knew the job was on a interim basis going in so there was no need in that idiot milking the situation all the more for his own financial gain.
