This milestone, if you can call it that, led me to think about some things from around that time. One of the most common memories I have from that time is something I've written about in the past.
It was around that time when I found myself spending an afternoon watching a film that has haunted me ever since.
I'm, of course, referring to Dirkie or Lost in the Desert.
I wrote about rewatching the movie about a young boy and his dog who are lost in South Africa's Kalahari Desert a few years ago. I managed to record it when it was on TV last Christmas.
Knowing that this is the week of the anniversary, it means that the commemoration of the first time I watched Dirkie surely has to be coming up.
I have searched 'Dirkie' and 'Lost in the Desert' in an archive of TV listings, but it didn't return any results. However, there was a result from another search I did which made me go 'wow' this morning.
After typing the two films titles into Google, I came across its release date.
It came out in 1969. Okay? Well, what if I told you it came out on this day in 1969!?
