2018 : The Year In Review

At the start of every year, I publish a post with my predictions for the upcoming twelve months. Then - on the final day of the year - I take a look back at those guesses to see whether they were right or not.

In today's post, I'll take a look back at what I expected at the start of 2018. Let's see how I did.

Tetsuya Naito will become IWGP Heavyweight Champion in the main event of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 12 on January 4th

I was wrong! Kazuchika Okada retained and then dropped the title to Kenny Omega during the summer.

Chris Jericho will defeat Kenny Omega in the semi-main event of Wrestle Kingdom 12

Another one I got wrong.

At least one cast member of the Netflix series, GLOW, will be a participant of the first-ever women's Royal Rumble

Nope!

Andrew Luck will be traded from the Indianapolis Colts

Thankfully, this one turned out incorrect. Andrew Luck returned from injury and has been doing amazingly. As if he hadn't spent over a year on the sidelines, in fact.

Against my better judgement because my head is telling me a European team is going to win, my heart is telling me to go with Brazil for the 2018 World Cup

I should have listened to my head. France won.

Manchester United will win the FA Cup

A close one.... United lost 0-1 to Chelsea.

Jose Mourinho will leave United over the summer

Not as 'close' as the FA Cup prediction, but Jose Mourinho did indeed leave United. The only thing I got wrong is the time of his departure. He left in December.

Bill Goldberg will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

This happened.

The Undertaker and John Cena will wrestle each other at WrestleMania 34

This also happened. And it was crap.

The Los Angeles Rams will win the Super Bowl

Nah, it was the Philadelphia Eagles.

Craig Bellamy will be named as the new coach of Wales

Another one I got wrong. Ryan Giggs was given the job.

My predictions for 2019 will be up in tomorrow's post.
