More On Cyber Sunday Text Voting

I was mentioned in yesterday's Wrestling Observer / Figure Four Weekly's daily update in regard to WWE implementing text messaging for Cyber Sunday and how - if they were to fiddle the results - they could open themselves up for trouble.

I referred to the trouble that the broadcasters faced in the UK after they were caught fixing phone and text competitions in an email to Bryan Alvarez yesterday afternoon and he wrote:

'-- Regarding WWE charging fans to text message their votes for this year's Cyber Sunday, David Taylor (not that Dave Taylor) notes that there have been some major scams of this sort in the UK that have resulted in a number of broadcasters, including the BBC, having to pay out huge sums of money for rigging results. I should note that although WWE does it's best to influence the voting, we've always heard that the voting was on the level when done on WWE.com in year's past. I'd suspect it won't be any different this year especially with fans paying to vote. '
