I read an article on a British tabloid's website the other day which ran with the headline that the Australian soap opera - Home and Away - was 'FACING THE AXE' after thirty-one years.
As a fan of the series, I read the article.
And then I went to an Aussie news site to read how the story is being reported down under.
It was like night and day.
The actual story is the programme has been performing poorly in the ratings for the last two years or so and it looks to be moving timeslots.
I suppose there is a chance it could be 'facing the axe' due to the timeslot thing being a sign that things aren't faring well, but to run with the doomed angle was a bit much, if I say so myself.
I hope things get better for Home and Away. Watching it has been a weekday tradition for most of my life.
