77 And Out

I was glad that Andy Murray won the men's final at Wimbledon over the weekend.

One of the things that has irked me each summer has been the way everybody had built up the fact that it was X amount of years since a British person (Fred Perry) had won the tournament.

Thank god for Andy Murray finally ending the seventy-seven year quest.

What is great about Murray winning it at last is the fact that - now that he has done it - there is going to be less pressure on him when he aims to repeat.

Also, him winning Wimbledon should inspire youngsters to try and follow suit.

I'd bet that it won't take another 77 years for another British winner.
