Harold Bishop Returning To Neighbours (Again!)

Here is one of the first things I came across on X/Twitter yesterday morning.

It was confirmed that Ian Smith, who portrayed Harold Bishop in Neighbours, is set to return to the series as a regular.

Great news.

Harold is one of the icons of Australian soap.

The social media post points out that it has been fifteen years since Harold Bishop left the series. However, that was as one of the main characters. He has been back-and-forth on occasion for guest stints and was most recently in the show when Amazon relaunched it in the latter part of 2023.

Ian Smith initially joined the series in the 1987, but left in 1991. The character went missing after falling into the sea and a storyline return was created when Smith rejoined the cast in 1996 for the extended run - as a regular - which ended in 2009.
