The Lesson Of Time

I've been sitting here trying to think of something to write and just cannot think of anything other than to note that it's the fiftieth post of the year.

As I make a post each day - it means one thing.

I don't know whether 'fifty days of 2009 already!' or 'fifty days of 2009 already?' would be the appropriate follow-up sentence.

There's been days that seem to have gone slowly yet there are others that have flown by. I guess that's normal.

Every time I think of time passing, I recall what, at the time, was the slowest day I had ever experienced.

It was Christmas Eve and I was seven or eight (maybe) and I was at my Great Aunt's home waiting for my Dad to pick us up. I kept telling her how I couldn't wait until the following day and she said 'don't wish your life away' to me.

I didn't really understand what she meant at the time. Looking back, she had a very good point.

Even if I think a day is running too slow, I remind myself of that wise statement.

I've also used it with my Nephew.

One day he'll understand, too.
