An End To A Glorious Era

It was an end of an era this past Saturday.

The WWE Survivor Series was the final PPV event to be streamed on the WWE Network here in the UK.

That's because - from January 2025 - content will move across to Netflix.

WWE Network UK

I subscribed to the WWE Network from day one. And I'm not referring to the UK launch which took place a year after the US. I signed up on the initial date by messing around with my PlayStation 3 to make it appear as though I lived in America.

My address was a McDonald's in.. Indianapolis, Indiana (of course!). Could you picture me choosing to live anywhere else?

I moved back to the UK a year later and have been subscribed properly ever since. I still am until December 31st.

The thing I'll miss the most is being able to check back on some of my favourite WWE programmes from the past. I've been thinking a lot about 1994, '95 and a little after those years a lot lately. I surmise mainly due to the passing of Sid Eudy over the summer.

Another programme I've enjoyed watching is Tuesday Night Titans which was Vince McMahon's idea to hold a chat show which brought wrestlers on. That series was around a while before I came around to the WWF, so it was a blast to have been able to watch many of those.

I highly doubt content like TNT will make it across to Netflix. It'll be a shame, but I remain confident that there will come another time - somewhere further on down the road - where I'll find those shows again.

For now, I just have to make do with whatever finds its way to WWE's new streaming partner.
