The next season of I'm a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here begins in a week from tonight. You know what that means.
As I've written many times over the years, the press ALWAYS gets a story out there in the weeks leading into the show which teases there could be disaster ahead.
Usually, it's stories about the weather in the area threatening the show. Last year the story focused on a gunman - on the run - potentially hiding out in the area where the series is filmed.
For 2024, the 'threat' to the series is an outbreak of leeches. And 'flesh-eating' ones at that.
I have no doubt that there are leeches in the area. The thing is - there are ALWAYS leeches in that sort of environment. And I'm not referring to any of the contestants or others from ITV.
Think about it: in today's TV world, with health and safety at its most strictest, do you really think ITV would go ahead with the series if there was a high risk?
That's a rhetorical.
