I've watched every single episode.
If you had told me, many years ago, that I would be writing a post mourning the end of a medical drama, I would call you crazy.
I dislike medical stuff. However, I found myself watching a batch of the first few episodes of The Good Doctor and decided to stick with it right through to the series finale.
Set in California, the series starred Freddie Highmore as Shaun Murphy - a student doctor (initially!) with autism. The programme focused on his condition and how he managed with it as he navigated his way through both his career and personal life.
There were obviously other characters in the series. We saw them deal with their own highs and lows alongside having their relationships, both personal and professional, with Murphy.
I enjoyed almost everything about the series. With that said, I may have felt - when the decision was made to end its run - that they 'should have finished last season'. However, the most recent episodes did have some excellent moments, so I was wrong to believe it had seen better days.
The finale tied everything up well. I felt quite sad. It felt like saying goodbye to people I had known for the past seven years. I suppose that shows how much of a great job everyone associated with The Good Doctor had put in.
It'll be missed.
