I Try KFC's The Ultimate BBQ Burger

I came across a TV commercial for KFC's latest burger the other day. I made a note to try one when the opportunity arose.

Well, that opportunity came knocking at lunchtime today.

KFC Ultimate BBQ Burger

As you can see by the box - the chicken burger is called 'The Ultimate BBQ Burger'. The advertising states that 'BBQ Season Is Here' (or something along those lines).

The KFC website states that the limited edition burger 'features an original recipe fillet smothered in smoky BBQ sauce, layered with crispy onions, cheese, creamy burger dressing and crunchy lettuce'. This ingredients are 'sandwiched between a brioche-style bun with unmistakable BBQ grill marks'.

As you can see below, the grill marks were prominent on the top of mine.

I hadn't read what the burger consisted of before placing my order. I obviously knew it had lettuce, chicken, cheese and - even more obvious - BBQ sauce. I didn't realise the dried onion until I opened the box.

Even after eating it, I can say I was not aware of the 'creamy burger dressing' the website states the burger had. I'm not saying it wasn't on mine, I simply didn't notice it if it was there. The barbecue sauce was the predominant flavour of this item.

The burger was very filling and enjoyable. With that said, I have yet to find a KFC burger which beats one I had in 2003 or 2004 which had a hash brown and blue cheese dressing.

Now - the important part: would I buy one of these burgers again?

I'll have to be straight up and say I'm unsure on that one. I know I wouldn't go out of my way to buy one. It's a case of 'I've done it, I don't have to do it again'. But - with that said - I find I have that said thought after trying every 'limited edition' item from fast food restaurants and supermarkets.
