A VERY Conspicuous Absence In This Year's PWI 500

As has been an annual thing for many, many years - Pro Wrestling Illustrated published its special edition yesterday in which its writers ranked the top 500 wrestlers.

The PWI 500, as it is called, always comes with its controversies. 2023 was no exception because it had one - as I titled this blog post - VERY conspicuous absence.

PWI 500 2023

Tetsuya Naito, who won this year's G1 Climax tournament and will headline the Tokyo Dome on January 4th at WrestleKingdom, not being on the list was a terrible oversight.

How could a wrestling mag make such a buffoonish error?

In my opinion, he should have been in the top five.

Here's hoping he gets some award at the end of the year. For example - His G1 Climax semi-final with Will Ospreay SHOULD be in contention for Match of the Year because it is - as it stands right now - my favourite of 2023.

The number 1 for this year is Seth Rollins. Below him are his former Shield buddies Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose when he wrestled in WWE) respectively.
