As I wrote in Thursday's post, my spreadsheet pointed to the game performing lower than the bookmakers' line of forty-two total points.
The match ended with the Colts winning 12-9 in overtime. The result moved my spreadsheet to 5-3 for the season. However, to focus solely on the recommended totals plays, it has now gone 4-0.
It was the one of the worst games I've ever watched.
On Thursday night, I entertained the idea of staying up to watch it. Common sense prevailed. Plan B was to wake up and watch the recording with a McDonald's breakfast. However, that idea fell by the wayside when I woke up before McDonald's had even opened.
I opted for a bowl of cereal and the game instead.
One of the narratives going in was all about how Peyton Manning is a former player of both teams. On top of that, the story centred on the struggles both franchises have dealt with in regards to securing quarterbacks to guide them out of the Manning era.
I found it ironic that the game punctuated this with every single point was scored by the field goal units.
I cringed when I saw the Colts celebrating the win. They only won because.. well, because the Broncos lost.
