Not as a New England Patriot, though.
The Pats have traded their formerly retired tight end to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what is the second surprising story of the off-season.
The first also involved the Patriots and Bucs as star quarterback - Tom Brady - jumped from New England to Tampa after becoming a free agent.
Everyone is hyped at the prospect of those two teaming up yet again. What they're failing to realise is Brady will be playing a system other than one devised by Bill Belichick for the first time in his professional career.
On top of that, the often-injured Gronk is coming back from a year away from the sport. The rest might have done him good, but also might not have.
We'll see, but I can't help but think this story will not end happily ever after.
For both players.
