Dungeon Master

It was a dark and stormy night...

Wait!

I'm not Edward Bulwer-Lytton and nor am I Snoopy. However, it really was a dark and stormy night last night so this is how I'll begin.

As the wind and brief lightning flashes went on outside, I was tucked up in bed and looking at something random on YouTube.

'Random' to you, not so much to me. You see, I decided to look at the gameplay of a computer game that I hasn't entered my consciousness for many years.

Dungeon Master.

I first played this role-playing game on the Atari ST and, as you would expect from the title, you have to maneuver your way around a series of dungeons.

Directions were not a strong point back then. To be fair, they aren't today. So, I used to use a handbook that was published by people who had - pardon the upcoming pun - mastered the game.

I don't know what happened at the end. I didn't get there. After all, it wasn't my game - I used to play it when I would stay at my uncle's home during school holidays.

Seeing the dated graphics of the game brought back some fond memories. They sure don't make them like they used to, do they?
