Avoid, Avoid, Avoid

I enjoy the first Saturday of the New Year because it means it is time for the third round of the FA Cup.

I've been looking at the odds on some of the games and have been liking what I have seen.

My initial thought on Cardiff City to win away against Macclesfield Town has changed, though.

The Cardiff side set to play today is going to be made up entirely of the second team.

I would have jumped at the chance to take Cardiff -1 on an Asian handicap. After all, they are eighty-one places above Macclesfield if you put all the league tables together.

With the team not being the one that is playing magnificently well in the Championship, it's now not worth the punt.

I'm not saying they'll lose - I just think it's best to avoid betting on it because there are plenty more matches to consider.
