2012 : The Year In Review

Each year, the January 1st blog post features predictions I have made for the year ahead. So - it's only natural that the December 31st post shows where I went right.

Or wrong, as the case often shows.

Here are the predictions I made at the start of this year.

Unlike the movie of the same name, the world will not end in 2012
There's still 24 hours for this one to blow up in my face. And I guess it really will blow up in my face if I'm wrong!

Jim Tressel will become new head coach of the Indianapolis Colts
Wrong. Chuck Pagano got the job.

The Rock and 'Macho Man' Randy Savage will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame
Neither did.

War Horse will be the big winner at the Oscars
Six nominations, no winners.

Manchester City will win the Premier League
Winner - barely.

The biggest fight in boxing will finally take place when Floyd Mayweather faces Manny Pacquiao
Didn't happen and, after Pacquiao's two losses in 2012, I now doubt it will be as marquee a fight as it could have been.

Peyton Manning will either retire or become a New York Jet
I bet the higher-ups at the New York Jets regret not having done this now.

Robbie Savage will participate in I'm a Celebrity
Nope.

Pittsburgh will win the Super Bowl against the New Orleans Saints (Final score 19-14)
An even bigger nope.

Brock Lesnar is going to return to WWE
I had this one right.

I call that three out of ten. I'll be back tomorrow with predictions for 2013.
