'You Know It's Fake, Right?'

'You know it's fake, right?'

That's one of the things I roll my eyes at when someone tries to let me in on the big secret that pro wrestling is fake.

I find it insulting. Not because I know the business is worked. I find it an insult because, if you pay attention closely - even people IN that industry admit that it's entertainment.

What makes me even more annoyed is the same kind of people pointing their finger and proclaiming that wrestling is a work are the same ones sitting behind their television sets each weekend catching up with what is happening on The X Factor.

To them I ask one simple question.

You know it's fake, right?

The Sun's current lead story - at time of writing - is detailing how Kelly Rowland has 'gone AWOL' from the show and headed back to the USA following an argument she had this past weekend. Don't ask me what it's all about, I don't watch it and don't know nor do I want to know.

What I do know, however, is the reports that the ratings are sliding. So what is the solution to this problem? Work up a story for the newspapers to get everyone talking and then they'll tune in on the weekend.

I truly feel sorry for the naive people who believe these reports because they are even more of a mark than those that believe pro wrestling is a legit sport.
