Accents, Homesickness And Something I Learned From WWE Producers

Cheryl Cole is not going to be on the US-version of X Factor after all.

The Sun newspaper says it's 'homesickness', nearly everyone else says 'accent'.

I'm with the latter.

When it was revealed that she was possibly going to get a spot on the show my initial reaction was to doubt she had a chance due to her accent.

I based my assumption on the fact that certain people in WWE do not like Jim Ross calling wrestling matches because they feel his accent is 'too southern' so - when the former Mrs Ashley Cole got the job - I thought 'this won't end well'.

And it didn't.

The US television world is cutthroat - if the best pro wrestling announcer has a hard time getting respect, an unknown act (in America's eyes) from England wasn't going to have a chance.
