My Notre Dame Christmas train will remain on its shelf until January 21st.
That's because, and as I mentioned earlier this week, I've decided to keep the train up as long as the Fighting Irish are in contention to win the College Championship.
I watched their semi-final game against Penn State in the early hours of yesterday morning. I caught the first half live, leaving the team 10-3 down, and then resumed the action as soon as I woke up.
I witnessed the comeback and the exciting final few minutes, or rather: seconds, of the game which saw the Penn State, tied 24 apiece at that time, attempt to go down the field to get the win only for an interception to halt matters.
A field goal for Notre Dame sealed it.
It was an enjoyable game. Well - the second half more than the first.
The win now moves Notre Dame into the final, which will be played on Monday 20 January (the 21st for me!). They'll find out their opponents - out of Ohio State or Texas - in a few hours from when this post goes live because their game kicks off at 12:30AM GMT.
As I've written previous to today, I've been following Texas this season because they have Arch Manning on their roster.
It would be quite a final to have the two teams I care about going at it.
