I was quite stunned yesterday when I read that TGI Fridays had fallen into administration.

The restaurant chain has been one of my favourites dating back to the 1990s. 

I hold many fond memories of going there in my misspent youth. My most favourite reminisces I have of watching televised sport is of the England versus Argentina game, from the 1998 World Cup, which saw England eliminated from the tournament.

I led the restaurant in singing 'They're going home, They're going home.. England's going home'. 

It was quite the night.

If I recall correctly, that was also the evening when I was first introduced to mozzarella sticks. I still enjoy them to this very day. Fridays' version of the starter will always be the best, in my opinion. Especially with the blue cheese to dip them in.

So sorry to see it in this situation.
