9/11: 22 Years On

Today is the twenty-second anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

In some ways, it feels like it was only a few years ago. Then, in most ways, it feels like a lifetime ago. I suppose, that's because it is.

So much has changed since that day. A lot of those changes have been made because of that day.

In those years, I've always been fascinated by the stories of that day (and its aftermath). 

One of the things I particularly found interesting was the mini series called -The Looming Tower - which was about everything that lead up to the attacks on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

The series is based on a 2006 book written by Lawrence Wright. 

I read the book a few weeks ago and it is just as interesting as the series. In fact, it obviously has a lot more detail than the narrative of what we see in the TV drama.

It, for sure, was not a case of 'I've seen the series, so I don't need to read the book'. There is an extended back story that pieces everything together toward that dreadful day.
