I - close to always - finish off the Thursday Night Football betting posts, that I publish each week during the NFL season, noting how I don't plan on betting on my spreadsheet's projections. I didn't do that yesterday because, in the back of my mind, I was planning to have a gamble.
If you read the post, you'll know that the spreadsheet called for Cleveland to win the game but not cover the -4.5 spread. It also suggested that the game would hit fifty points, which meant that 'Over 38.5 points' was the play in the totals market.
I opted for the latter.
The game ended with Cleveland winning 29-17. The Over won. However, it would have lost had I backed the Steelers with the four-and-a-half point head-start.
I watched the game this morning. For me, it was the first NFL betting win of the 2022 season after losing in week one and not having a punt last weekend.
As for the spreadsheet's record for Thursday games in 2022: it is currently at 3-2. Not good enough. However, It is 2-0 when it comes to totals plays.
