Sting Retires

One thing that I was unable to cover last week as I was tied up with the Cheltenham Festival was the announcement that Sting is retiring from professional wrestling.

The news wasn't really that shocking to me considering how messed up he was when he wrestled Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions in September last year.

He suffered a serious injury during that match. It looked quite scary when he lost his legs temporarily.

It's a shame he went out the way he did. He made his WWE debut earlier that year in a loss to Triple H at WrestleMania XXXI and I was still holding out hope that he and The Undertaker would square off.

With that said - at fifty-seven years old, and following decades of good money in the business, I think he made the right decision.

He's going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on the night before this year's WrestleMania, so I'll be writing a bit more about him in the post where I run through the class of 2016. This will be published on Saturday April 2nd.
