49 & Done?

Floyd Mayweather, Jr will tie Rocky Marciano's record of 49 wins and 0 losses if he defeats Andre Berto in the early hours of tomorrow.

It'll be Mayweather's retirement match, if you believe what he's claiming.

I'm not buying it, though.

If he does go 49-0, and I think he will without question, there is going to be a huge demand for the fight where he goes 50-0 and passes Marciano's record.

Mayweather has claimed he does not want to go beyond the feat. I think he's playing a good game because there will be demand for a bout where he reaches 50. He'll have cable and PPV companies knocking down his door as soon as Sunday morning.

He'll fight again. I'd bet the house on it.

It'll be interesting to see who he does go up against for number 50. Him choosing a 30-3 Berto for fight 49 is a challenge, He could have picked an easier opponent to reach Marciano.
