To the right is the controversial Christmas film that almost ruined the Fifth Annual Diet of Christmas Films.
If you didn't read Christmas Day's post, I suggest going back to see how everything was going fine until I decided that I would end the festive film viewing with this atrocity.
I noted how I thought the cover looked good when I ordered it. What I should have done is read reviews of the movie before I went out and bought it.
With that said, I think the most I paid for it was £3.99.
Had I read reviews, the masochist in me probably would have ended up buying it just to see how bad it was. However, I would have chosen it to be the first film I watched rather than the last.
It ultimately ended up being the penultimate film on my list as I refused to end on a bad note.
And trust me, it would have been a bad note had this been the last festive movie I watched for 2012.
The disc turned out to be faulty and wouldn't play the final five minutes. So, in my search for reviews of the film, I noticed that the full movie was available on YouTube. The devil sitting on my left shoulder is now begging me to type 'you should check it out'.
Whoops. Too late.
It has been a few days since I watched it and the bloody theme tune is still ringing in my head. Thankfully, I am not the only one who despised this film. There are many, many websites, tweets and videos out there with heavy criticism towards the movie.
There are some who think it is a cult classic because of how bad it is.
I can see what they mean. After all, I purposely watched Troll 2 because it is regarded as the worst movie ever and I found fun from it. Had I known the reputation of Santa Claus Conquers The Martians, I'd probably have ended up embracing it for what it was..
Don't let my words turn you off this film. Do a web search, just like I did, and find out how it has been received
Don't watch it.
And that's from the angel sitting on my right.
No, go on. Do.
