I don't usually bet accumulators but thought I would have a punt on Ladbrokes' Millionaire betting coupon this past weekend.

The betting slip contains twenty matches. The bettor has to select whether each game will end in a home win, draw or away win.

If the first five games on the sheet are correct, Ladbrokes pays out some winners. They also pay out on the first ten and fifteen if they are correct. If all twenty are right, the winner receives one million pounds.

I came close to getting the first five correct when I had selected the following teams to be winners : Everton, Stoke, Wigan, Cardiff and Burnley.

Everton were the only team to let me down after giving away a 1-0 lead in the 90th minute. Ironically, they were the first team on the betting slip so it should have been the easiest one of the twenty.

I ended up having two more losers in the next five (therefore missing out on £4,400 by three games).

Things turned for the worse with the last half of the bet. I had one correct from ten.

I won't be doing these accumulators every week. However, I may have a go for fun on the odd occasion.
