The Lesnar Follow-Up

I think the follow-up to Brock Lesnar's return to WWE was handled great on the most recent episode of Monday Night Raw.

The show opened with Lesnar being introduced by John Laurinaitis. He spoke for a few moments before being interrupted by John Cena. Cena slapped Lesnar in the face and the pair began to brawl. Wrestlers and road agents ran to the ring to keep them apart.

It was a superb angle that is leading to the two rivals squaring off at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view at the end of the month.

There are some eyebrows being raised at this match being done so early. I sort of agree - I had even suggested the two should have been kept apart until SummerSlam on August 19th.

I guess the one year contract that Lesnar is on made those in power feel it was important to start him off in a major match as soon as possible so as to get the most out of the investment.

We'll find out in fifty-one weeks whether the gamble pays off. However, it will be more telling when the buyrate results for Extreme Rules are announced.

As for week one - it's a thumbs up from me.
