More On The Haye/Harrison Fallout

When I wrote about the boxing fans being angry at the Audley Harrison and David Haye boxing match, I was unaware that Harrison had only landed one punch in the three round fight so I have to correct one point.

It's an Audley Harrison fight - what did you expect!?

Now, on to my second point for today.

There has been a lot of press concerning a possible fix in the fight where it is alleged that Haye said 'Now!' to Harrison before the contender fell for the knockout. If this is indeed what happened, then it is another one of those black eyes for not only British boxing but for the sport in general.

I find it hard to determine whether he did take the fall but - from what I saw - it does look like Haye is telling him that this is it. It's more than a coincidence that those that are claiming this isn't the case are the ones who work in boxing. It's the independent analysts that have nothing to lose from making a claim who should be regarded highly in this matter.

And they say 'fix'.

If it was a fix, shame on those who were involved.

And speaking of shame - let's hope those who felt compelled to complain about the result are aware of a saying I like to live by.

'Shame me once, shame on you. Shame me twice, shame on me.'
