Old School Raw

I loved last night's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.

It was a special 'Old School' edition that incorporated some of the things that would have been seen on earlier WWF programming.

The show opened up with the WWF ident from the '80s albeit with the word 'Federation' crossed out and 'Entertainment' put below it. Then, we were treated to the old Monday Night Raw theme and open but with current superstars instead of the ones back then. It was a cleverly done open.

The set was old school as well. The WWF logo was on the ring apron and on turnbuckle pads. They even brought back the red, white and blue ring ropes.

Michael Cole wore a WWF commentator blazer and the refs were decked out in the blue shirt and black tie just like they were back in the day.

They even had Mean Gene Okerlund - and the small stage he stood on inside the arena - back for the night to do the interview segments.

The production and scene wasn't the only fun things from the night.

We were also treated to the return of some of the legends from the history of professional wrestling. People I grew up watching and love seeing back and getting the respect they deserve.

The company really did think of a lot of stuff to do to make it a nostalgic night and was one of the best episodes of Raw I have seen in a while.

I'll definitely be putting this one on a DVD.
