I bought a copy of the Sega Mega Drive Collection for the PlayStation 3 the other day and it arrived here yesterday.
The disc features over forty games which were available for Sega's 16-Bit console back in the 1990s.
I owned a Mega Drive for all of two months.
In February of 1992, our house was broken into and it was stolen. By the time the insurance money came, I had jumped ship to the Super Nintendo which was released in the spring of that year.
The Sega Mega Drive games have not aged well. In fact, I was surprised to think that - back in my school days - we would be amazed at some of these games.
My nephew summed it up.
As we were playing he asked me 'are these games the ones you played when you were a kid?' I affirmed his question. He then followed up with 'they weren't very good, we're they?'
Hindsight being 20/20 - he was right on the money.
I tried to save face.
'If you think these are bad, you should see what they were like on the Commodore 64.'
