The Heart Stops Beating (At Last!)

I was planning on writing something about Heartbeat being cancelled but totally forgot about it.

I was reminded when I was scrolling through the TV guide and realised the opportunity I missed in making an interesting point.

Heartbeat was okay when it first started in 1992 but I haven't bothered watching it since probably 1994.

What I realised about the series is kind of funny.

It started in 1992 and ran until this past Sunday. It's set in the 1960s and must have had at least eighteen Christmas specials.

That's eighteen Christmases that took place in the 1960s, if we're going by this series being a reflection of village life back then.

It should have moved along into other decades. It may not have lengthened the run but it wouldn't have been so stupid to have it last longer than the Sixties itself.
