Corey Haim's Death : Sad But Not Surprising

I was not in the least bit surprised when I read about the passing of Corey Haim when the news popped up yesterday afternoon.

Haim was in one of my favourite movies - The Lost Boys - and was a sex symbol for many of the female classmates at my junior school. I recall this one girl, Claire, having stickers of him on her pencil case.

As I grew up, I would often see news stories about him in rehab and was shocked to see how bloated he was in The Lost Boys special edition DVD I bought a few years ago. It was evident that his demons had taken over.

The demons were ever present in The Lost Boys 2.

'What? Haim was in The Lost Boys 2?' I hear you ask.

I wrote about the film back on the 3rd of August 2008 and noted how he was listed in the credits but only appeared in a scene after these aforementioned credits had rolled.

He was so out of it when filming the movie that his scene had to be removed and the story was rewritten with the part with his appearance was inserted possibly as a teaser for a third film.

Haim is not in the latest installment which is due for release later this year. This makes the inclusion at the end of the second movie even more baffling.

His on set breakdown was shown on the fly-on-the-wall series documenting The Two Coreys which can be viewed on YouTube if you look hard enough.
