Am I the only one who doesn't see anything wrong with Mick McCarthy fielding a weakened Wolverhampton Wanderers team against Manchester United the other night?
Wolves beat Tottenham Hotspur this past weekend and now face a relegation zone tussle against Burnley. The game against the current champions was sandwiched between the two games.
Out of the two games following the Spurs win, the one with Burnley is the most important. Why risk the fitness of the main squad in a game they had a slim chance of winning when they could be rested?
Football is a game of tactics. McCarthey made a tactical move and he is being criticised for it.
Now we need to see whether this gamble pays off.
