The Newcastle United Hologram

You'll have to bear with me on this one. My camera couldn't get a good enough picture due to there being a lack of light above the image I wanted to capture.

Back in 1993 or 1994, I bought Premier League stickers and there was a hologram of a Newcastle United shirt in the book. Luckily for me, I got a 'double' and decided not to do 'swapsies' with it and put the sticker on the headboard of my bed.

It has been there ever since.

I was laying on my bed the other day and looked up at it and noticed the kit is disappearing and it reminded me of the picture in Back to the Future.

In the movie, Marty McFly needs to realign events of 1955 so his parents fall in love and him and his siblings are born.

As things aren't going the way they should, the three children are vanishing from the photograph and Marty must prevail in order to save his family's future.

The hologram losing the Newcastle strip is symbolic of the trouble Newcastle United FC are currently in.

The demotion from the Premier League, the lack of news on a sale, the oohing and aahing over the reappointment of Alan Shearer as manager all with three weeks to go before the season kicks off is wearing thing on everyone.

Newcastle needs a Marty McFly.

Pronto.
