The Go Home Show

Last night's Raw did a fair job building up this Sunday's WrestleMania.

The final television tapings before a pay-per-view are referred to by those within the industry as 'go home shows'.

The term 'go home' is said by the referee during a wrestling match to prompt the performers to finish off the match. Therefore, the saying can be applied to the final television recordings because the entire show puts the finishing touches in a lead-in to a PPV.

The main event on Raw featured a four-on-four match and was called a 'WrestleMania showcase match'. The teams consisted of eight of the main performers at this Sunday's event.

The show ended with Ric Flair forcing the WWE Champion, Randy Orton to submit to the figure four leg-lock.

I am a big Ric Flair fan but I felt this was not the way they should have ended the show. A world champion should never be seen weak six days before a major event.

I'm not saying Flair didn't deserve to end the show on top, I'm just saying it could have been done with any other wrestler on the opposing team being forced to cry 'uncle' to the man who may be retired by this time next week.
