Tribute To The Troops 2007

I was finally able to catch the Christmas Eve edition of Monday Night Raw. I had recorded it but couldn't find the time to watch it.

The episode was filmed at an Iraqi soccer stadium in front of US soldiers serving for their country.

The WWE has been making these tours each Christmas for the last four years and it has always been positively received from those people who usually turn their nose up at professional wrestling.

It's just a goodwill episode of Raw. No long-term storylines are started or ended on these shows it's just a way to show support for the troops and to allow them to try and get their messages back home.

Sky Sports hadn't aired the first two years of the Tribute to the Troops but they have started showing them since the 2006 episode. I guess their reasoning was because it is aimed at the US viewers rather than the International market.

I enjoyed the show and think that - despite all the negative things the WWE does in a year - this is one of the good examples they set as a company.
