Ric Flair returns to wrestling on Monday Night Raw tonight in what could be his last big angle before he retires from the ring.
The Nature Boy hasn't been wrestling for a number of months due to a dispute between he and his employers. He has made it clear that this was going to be his retirement year but felt underwhelmed with the company's response to a planned storyline leading to his departure at Wrestlemania next Spring.
There was an interesting idea thrown around earlier this year where Flair would go on a long losing streak and then vow that if he lost again he would retire. Then, after making this promise, he was to have a long run of victories and even possibly win the WWE title and then lose in the main event of Wrestlemania XXIV.
The plan was for Flair to also be inducted in the Hall of Fame the night before the big match.
Whether this angle happens or not is beside the point. What will happen is Ric Flair will retire in 2008 and I think the man deserves a send-off like any living legend.
Woooooo!
