Thirteen years ago today was a moment that I will never forget. It was the day I first went to see a WWF show - but there was more to the story.
A few months earlier I had gone to see the WCW and met Davey Boy Smith and Sting so thought I would go one better this time around.
On the morning of the event I went to the hotel where the wrestlers were staying and waited for them to arrive.
I met all of the stars who were on the show that evening - such names as The Undertaker, Macho Man Randy Savage, Diesel, Razor Ramon and many more.
The highlight of this afternoon was I got to walk down the road with Savage, 1-2-3 Kid, Razor Ramon and Shawn Michaels as I was showing them the way to the gym that was close to the hotel.
I look back at this moment in time and there is no doubt in my mind that this was what enhanced my passion for wrestling.
At the time we were growing up and watching wrestling was a thing to be laughed at wheras a year earlier it was the in-thing. Meeting the wrestlers smartened me up to the business in a big way and kept me on board.
I don't know what I would be writing about today if I hadn't gained that experience thirteen years ago.
