Yesterday's Show

When I wrote yesterday's post, I was waiting for the main card of New Japan's Wrestle Kingdom 12 to start.

Well, I watched it all. Such a great show.

My favourite match of the night (or rather day!) was Kenny Omega versus Chris Jericho. The reason why is because I sort of had low expectations going in and was expecting the main event - Kazuchika Okada versus Tetsuya Naito - to be top it.

Don't get me wrong - Okada versus Naito was brilliant. I just thought the other match was more of a surprise.

However, on the topic of 'surprise', the result of the main event did make me sit up. I was expecting Naito to defeat Okada. The champion has been on such a long run with the strap that I thought it was going to end yesterday. It was win-win for me because I like Okada's run with the IWGP Heavyweight Championship, but was also sort of looking forward to Naito becoming the titleholder.

I'm now about to watch today's event - New Year's Dash..
