Back To The Baize

I spent an hour or so on Wednesday afternoon clearing stuff off my computer desk. I'm in the process of planning my next PC order and wanted to tidy things up before I make my decision. When I got to the bottom of the pile of envelopes and paper in front of the monitor I came across a relic of my past.

A poker dealer chip.

A Jack Daniel's poker dealer chip to be precise.

I studied it and thought to myself 'man, I wasted so much time playing poker back then'. Then I flipped the chip into the punched pocket that will house my items for the time being.

After completing the task, I sat at the iPad and watched the concluding episode of a series I had been watching on Amazon Prime TV. Sneaky Pete (it's really good, watch it!) had a scene where they were playing..

Yes, you guessed it.

Poker.

Later on that day, I had nothing to do so decided to enter a tournament. I installed the software, found myself a £3 buy-in tourney and spent the next two-and-a-half hours playing.

To be honest with you, I sort of did enjoy it.

I finished in 13th place. I more than doubled my deposit, so I didn't leave empty handed. That's a plus.

Even though I did like playing again, I have no plans to return any time soon. I uninstalled the software as soon as I was done.
