Michael Owen will retire from football at the end of the current season.
That was the announcement made yesterday by the current Stoke player who has played for Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United, Manchester United and internationally for England.
I can't say I'll miss him.
He hasn't been the same since he left Liverpool. As a former Newcastle United fan, the only memory I will have of him at the club will be the day when he signed his contract.
They tried to recapture the Alan Shearer signing with fans at St. James' Park welcoming their new player.
I admit I was looking forward to seeing him play for the club. I'll also admit his tenure there was a letdown.
