I had a plan - wait until the European Championships and see what offers were available for purchasing televisions.

I had a look around and did happen to find a decent deal on a Smart 3D TV which came with a free 3D Blu-ray Player and I was going back-and-forth on whether to buy it or not. I ended up deciding to wait a little longer. I know if do that, the price will drop a bit more. I'm not in desperate need of a telly so it can wait.

What was interesting in my search was an offer that was available with Currys.

If I had spent over £549 on a TV - which I was going to do - they would have give me back £10 for every goal England score in the tournament.

To be fair, I thought long and hard about that one.

And then it dawned on me - I would have to rely on England to score goals and decided against it.

I'll have another look around for a TV during the Olympics. In the meantime, I'll be watching how many goals England manage to score over the next three weeks.
