Wrong (I Hope!)

Earlier this year, I predicted that The Wrestler wouldn't win any Oscars at the Academy Awards.

This comment was made because I thought the wrestling press were going overboard in their praise of the movie and I felt that the hype would end up being bigger than the finished product.

I was obviously wrong as Mickey Rourke has won BAFTA and Golden Globe awards for his performance.

I am hoping he does win an Oscar tonight.

It is good to be wrong.

Monday update - I guess I was right after all. Rourke failed to secure the best actor Oscar last night. Could his announcement that he was going to be involved with WWE cause the Academy to shift their votes? Of course, we'll never know the answer but the question will always be there.
