Halloween Movie Night 2026

It's a big day here.

My nephew and I have spent countless Halloweens watching horror films and eating a bunch of sweets associated with the celebration. We're set to keep to the tradition again this evening. However, it comes with the knowledge that this is the last year he'll be classed as a child.

We still intend to continue the years-long run, but - next year - he'll be eighteen. Old enough for even scarier films, I suppose.

Over the previous few years, I've chosen films from my childhood. We've watched The Lost Boys, Monster in the Closet, Killer Klowns from Outer Space and a few others that escape me right now. My idea for this year was to watch another campy film from back then - The Stuff. However, Evan has asked if he could choose the film this time. I've okayed the request.

As noted, one of the fun parts of these Halloween movie nights is the sweets we've had. One of my favourites has been 'Monster Mix' which we've bought from Poundland. I didn't buy it from there this time, however. The reason why - I've found bigger bags at Amazon:

Monster Mix Sweets

They're a really nice bunch of sweets. They're moulded like skulls, vampire teeth, eyeballs and - my favourite - brains. The brains have an ever so slight bit of juice inside them. Well, it feels like they do, anyway.

Would have loved to have had these sweets during my childhood.

Another thing we've had along the years, and will have tonight, are marshmallows shaped like ghosts. I'm not much of a marshmallow fan, but I made sure they were on the shopping list.

Happy Halloween to all.
