I am at my laptop, as I begin writing this post. Oreo is at his food and water munching away at the former.
It's a special former.
For that's because I have introduced him to something new today. I saw it whilst shopping for cat food a few weeks back and thought to myself 'that'll be perfect to give Oreo for Halloween'.
As you can see above, it's a limited edition 'Spooky Paté' made by Lily's Kitchen. It is chicken and pumpkin.
During the process of writing the above, Oreo has walked away and returned to the meal. I'll have a proper look before publishing the post.
For the past few years, my nephew and I have watched horror films from my childhood on Halloween night. This year's movie is going to be Killer Klowns From Outer Space. I was quite surprised, earlier this year, when I realised I hadn't shown it to him before. I had introduced my eldest nephew to the classic - and it is a classic! - years ago, so must have confused myself into believing I had watched it with both of them at certain points.
One of the things I'll obviously miss about this evening is catching up with Vicki and telling her how the movie viewing went. She was always keen to see how things panned out for those sessions.
Last year's movie was The Lost Boys. Before that - The Monster Squad. There was also Monster in the Closet and Halloween III thrown in to earlier October 31sts.
I think next year's offering might be Trick Or Treat. To be frank - I should have done that this year considering Ozzy Osbourne is in it.
Anyway, that's me done for now. I have snacks to buy for this evening. Or should I say 'treats' ?
I'll actually finish off with a treat, before checking out what Oreo has left in the bowl.
On October 1st of last year, I showed Vick a video of a young child dressed in a Michael Myers mask. They were swinging a knife with the Halloween theme tune playing. The video made me chuckle, so I had to pass it on. I came across it again, a few weeks after Vicki's passing, and then looked back up at the old chat. It made me smile because it is a perfect example of the banter we had. I took a screenshot so I can get to it easily. I'll share it here so it's another avenue for me to look it up again...
It's one of a billion examples of the banter we had. Today's the perfect day to remind myself of THAT one, however.
Okay, now I really am off. But, not before the official word on whether Oreo gives a paws up - or down - for the limited edition paté.
I'm going to have to rule - undecided. It doesn't look like he has eaten much of it. Instead, he has gone for the dry food I had placed around it.
Eek!

Oreo has gone back a third time to the food. Maybe, just maybe he is finally giving it a go!
