I came across the following post on TAFKA Twitter this morning.
It's a cartoon tribute to David Lynch from the New Yorker Magazine showing the recently deceased filmmaker at the pearly gates and is being asked by the receptionist (or is it St. Peter?) 'OK, but who really killed Laura Palmer?'
I don't want to come across as- ironically, considering the picture -a gatekeeper to Twin Peaks, but - this humour is very, very dated.
Had David Lynch passed away before the spring of 1991 or - at most - before the conclusion of the second season of Twin Peaks, then this cartoon would be both funny and undated.
It isn't in 2024.
Everyone found out who killed Laura Palmer in the third quarter of season two. In 1991.
St Peter, or whoever is in charge of Lynch's booking in the sketch, should know who killed Laura Palmer long before now.
To cut a very long story short - an evil spirit named Bob was the culprit.
And if you didn't know, now you know.
