It was quite a surprising thing to witness Bill Belichick officially unveiled as the head coach of the University of North Carolina's football program.
I had visions of the ex New England Patriots HC eventually finding an NFL team sometime during the upcoming off-season. I was evidently wrong.
The move kind of does make sense considering Belichick's life story.
His father - Steve - was a coach at the college between 1953 and 1955. Maybe the lure of following in his father's footsteps was enough to walk away from the pros for now.
I look forward to the 2025 college season.
