Lions @ Colts Brings Back A Twenty Year Memory

Sky Sports is airing the Indianapolis Colts' meeting with the Detroit Lions today.

I am thrilled that this is the game the channel has decided to air because of one major reason. 

One of my favourite Colts games was against the Detroit Lions. It was one of the Thanksgiving Day games of 2004.

It seems quite fitting that the teams are scheduled against each other almost twenty years to the day. The actual date of the Thanksgiving game was November 25th '04, so tomorrow is the anniversary.

I believe that was the first Thanksgiving Day game I watched live on TV. The Colts won 41-9.

Indianapolis had entered the game as nine-point road favourites. They obviously covered the spread.

It's a reversal twenty years later, though.

This time, the Lions are the road team. They're also favourites albeit by seven-and-a-half points. But, still.

I'll be rooting for an upset. That's something I wasn't looking for twenty years ago.
